Zimbabwe level T20I series with 5-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Harare
Winning the toss and opting to field first, Zimbabwe’s bowlers delivered a dominant performance, dismissing Sri Lanka for just 80 runs in 17.4 overs — the visitors’ second-lowest T20I total. It was also the lowest T20I score recorded at Harare Sports Club, surpassing the previous mark of 90/9 set by Zimbabwe against Afghanistan in 2022.
Sikandar Raza and Brad Evans spearheaded the home side’s attack, claiming three wickets each and dismantling Sri Lanka’s batting order. Only Kamil Mishara (20) and captain Charith Asalanka (18) managed to reach double figures for the visitors.
In reply, Zimbabwe chased down the target despite some resistance from the Sri Lankan bowlers, finishing on 84/5. Ryan Burl (20) and Tashinga Musekiwa (21) top-scored for the hosts, guiding them to victory with 34 balls to spare.
The series decider will be played on September 8, also in Harare.
