Srilankan Ambassador to Israel Mr. Nimal Bandara told Ziradaily that group of 16 journalists arrived in Israel for a five-day study tour as part of a program to educate foreign media and policymakers about the current situation in Israel.

Sri Lankan delegation, selected by the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, is currently on an official visit to Israel, engaging in a series of high-level meetings and programs aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with officials at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. They will also observe ongoing humanitarian aid operations in the Gaza Strip, gaining firsthand insights into Israel’s efforts in the region.

The Consul General of Israel in Sri Lanka, Mr. Dinesh Rodrigo, joined the visit, further highlighting the significance of the delegation’s mission.

A dinner reception was hosted in honor of the Sri Lankan representatives, Mr. Nimal  Bandara SriLankan ambassador to Israel focused on expanding employment opportunities for Sri Lankans in Israel and exploring broader avenues of diplomatic cooperation between the two nations.

The event was also attended by Dr. Annette Bernstein Reich, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Northern Israel, and Mr. Hemantha Ekanayake, Deputy Head of the Sri Lankan Embassy, underscoring the collaborative efforts to deepen Israel–Sri Lanka relations
