Rapper ‘Shan Putha’ arrested for supplying explosives to ‘Maduva’

The arrest follows revelations made during investigations into Maduva, who was apprehended on August 2 with three gelignite sticks, five detonators, and 3.5 kilograms of ammonium nitrate. The explosives were discovered buried behind his house in Pitipana Galahena, based on a confidential tip-off received by the Officer-in-Charge of the Kahathuduwa Police Criminal Investigation Division, Chief Inspector Rajitha Gurusinghe.

During interrogation, Maduva alleged that a police constable — already in remand for stealing a firearm from the Kotawila Police — and ‘Shan Putha’ had supplied the explosives.

‘Shan Putha’ is to be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court, while further investigations are underway.

It is also noteworthy that Maduva was previously arrested on August 25 at the Mount Clifford Housing Complex in Kahathuduwa with a fake pistol and later released on bail.
