The President’s Fund has announced that Rs. 1 million will be provided to each family of those who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident on the Ella–Wellawaya main road last night.
According to the President’s Media Division, the decision was taken as immediate relief to support the affected families.
The accident, which occurred when a bus carrying passengers toppled into a deep precipice, claimed the lives of 15 individuals while leaving several others injured.
Authorities have already commenced investigations into the incident, while rescue and medical assistance efforts are continuing for the survivors.
