Range rover driver arrested over Ella-Wellawaya bus crash that killed 15

Police have arrested the driver of a range rover jeep in connection with the fatal bus accident on the Ella-Wellawaya road last night, which claimed the lives of 15 people and left 18 others injured.
According to police, the bus was travelling from Ella towards Wellawaya when it collided head-on with the jeep and overturned near the 24th milepost at around 9 p.m.
The deceased include nine women and six men, while the injured are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
