A total of sixteen students, including six female undergraduates, have been arrested in connection with an alleged ragging incident at the Eastern University, police confirmed.
The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by a female student, who had reportedly been subjected to ragging.
The suspects were produced before the Eravur Magistrate’s Court and were later released on bail.
Police stated that further investigations are underway regarding the incident.
