Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar has announced that a feasibility study is underway for a proposed tourism development project aimed at connecting Neduntheevu and Katchatheevu.

The Minister made this statement during an observation visit to Katchatheevu yesterday, accompanied by the President.

“We discussed with the Navy the safety concerns of our fishermen operating in the Katchatheevu area, the challenges they face, and the development projects planned for the region,” the Minister said.

He added that several initiatives are being planned to promote tourism in the area.

“As part of this effort, we are exploring the feasibility of a tourism project that would connect Neduntheevu and Katchatheevu. Since tourists are already visiting Neduntheevu, we aim to extend development initiatives to include Katchatheevu as well,” he said.
