The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has directed all pending case backlogs in courts to be cleared by December 31. The order has been issued to all District Judges, Magistrates, High Court Judges, and Additional District Judges.

The move follows recent data collection on pending cases, after which the JSC instructed judges to expedite the process without delay. Judges who are administratively responsible for their respective courts have been made directly accountable for clearing the caseload.

The Commission will monitor progress through local-level inspections and has ordered monthly progress reports from all judges. It also stressed that the accurate reporting and disposal of pending cases is both a collective and individual responsibility of court staff.

The JSC warned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against any staff members who fail to carry out their duties.
