Upcountry Train Services Restored After Temporary Disruption

Train services on the Upcountry railway line between Haputale and Idalgashinna were temporarily disrupted yesterday (30) following the derailment of a motor trolley carrying railway department officials.
As a result, the Colombo Fort–Badulla special express train (No. 1007) was halted at Ohiya, while the Badulla–Colombo Fort night mail train (No. 1046) remained at Haputale for several hours.
Railway control announced that services returned to normal after the successful removal and re-railing of the motor trolley.
