Sri Lanka welcomed 178,969 tourists between August 1 and 27, 2025, according to data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). This marks an increase from the 164,609 visitors recorded in the same period last year.

Statistics revealed that tourist arrivals have grown in almost every month of the first seven months of 2025 compared to 2024, with January recording the highest influx this year.

India remained the top source market for Sri Lanka in August, with 41,580 visitors, accounting for 23.2% of total arrivals. The United Kingdom ranked second with 18,432 tourists, followed by Italy with 11,869 arrivals.
