Attorney Ranjith Rajakaruna, appearing for former Anuradhapura Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjeewa Mahanama — a suspect in the incident — argued that his client has suffered serious prejudice due to the prolonged delay in receiving the AG’s directions.
Mahanama, previously arrested on suspicion of involvement in the shooting, was remanded and later released on bail.
