Police fire warning shot to subdue suspect in Dharga Town

Police said the incident occurred after officers responded to a 119 emergency call about a dispute between two groups. Upon arrival, the suspect reportedly tried to assault them, prompting one officer to discharge his revolver into the air.

The suspect was subdued and taken into custody. He is expected to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court.

Further investigations are underway, Aluthgama police said.
