Ranil Wickremesinghe transferred to normal ward after ICU treatment

Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who had been receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Colombo, has been transferred to a normal ward following an improvement in his condition, United National Party (UNP) Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told the media today (29).
Mr. Kariyawasam said the former President’s health had “markedly improved” over the past few days, enabling doctors to move him out of intensive care.
UNP General Secretary Talatha Athukorala stated that all decisions regarding Mr. Wickremesinghe’s medical treatment will be made by his family members, in consultation with the hospital’s medical team.
