The Presidential Secretariat has formally refused a Right to Information (RTI) request seeking details of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s domestic travel.

The request, submitted on August 4, 2025, by Mr. Jinath Premaratne, was denied under Section 5(1)(b)(i) of the RTI Act, with the Secretariat stating that the information sought is directly related to security-sensitive matters concerning the President.

In its written response, the Secretariat also informed that, in accordance with Section 31(1) of the Act, the applicant may file an appeal within 14 days of receiving the decision.
