CID questions Hospital Deputy Director Dr.Bellana

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today questioned Dr. Rukshan Bellana, Deputy Director of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, regarding a misinformation incident circulating on social media.
The false claims alleged that the Prime Minister had visited former President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the hospital.
Dr. Bellana, who provided a formal statement to the CID, Bellana said that Wickremesinghe — recently released on bail — remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. He added that the former President’s condition is improving and he may be moved to a general ward as early as tomorrow, depending on his recovery.
