Vehicular movement along the Colombo–Kandy Road will be restricted this evening (28) owing to the Deva Perahera of the historic Sri Paththini Dewalaya in Ambepussa, Warakapola.

The procession, commencing at 6 p.m., will proceed along the Colombo–Kandy Road via Ambepussa Junction, Mahena DS junction, and Mahena bend before returning to the temple.

Police said heavy traffic congestion is expected and advised motorists to use alternative routes:

From Colombo: via Pasyala–Nittambuwa–Giriulla–Mirigama to the expressway, or via Weweldeniya–Mirigama Road to the expressway.

From Kandy: via Nelundeniya–Alawwa Road.
