The Colombo High Court today issued notice on a revision petition filed by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who is seeking to suspend the arrest warrant issued against him by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

Senaratne’s legal team had also requested an interim order to suspend the warrant. However, the High Court declined to grant such an order at this stage, stating that only notice would be issued to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), named as the respondent in the case.

President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa, representing Senaratne, told the court that his client will appear before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court on 29 August as directed.

The petition is scheduled to be taken up for further hearing on 10 September.
