Ranil arrest draws no diplomatic protest: Vijitha Herath

No foreign diplomat or diplomatic organization has raised objections regarding the recent arrest of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath said today.
Speaking at the Cabinet media briefing held today (27), Minister Herath said that while various individuals have made different remarks on the matter, none of them are of significant concern.
He further said that the international community now sees that the rule of law is being applied fairly and equally in Sri Lanka.
The Minister said that although there were past concerns about selective law enforcement, such issues are no longer evident.
