Cabinet nods renovation of Kottawa–Dodangoda expressway stretch

Extensive surface cracks and internal structural deterioration have been observed in this section, prompting the need for urgent repairs. The planned work includes restoring the damaged base layers and applying a new surface overlay to ensure safe and efficient travel.

Bids for the renovation were invited under the National Competitive Procurement process. After evaluating the submissions, the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee recommended awarding the contract to Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, the lowest responsive bidder.

The proposal was presented by the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, and received Cabinet approval accordingly.
