According to the notification, the suspension came into effect from August 25. As a result, the administrative and supervisory responsibilities of the three associations have been placed under the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
The Gazette has been issued under Sections 32 and 33 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973, granting the Ministry authority to intervene in the management of national sports bodies under specified circumstances.
