Police have arrested rapper Madhava Prasad in Homagama after a video surfaced on Facebook showing six men using drugs near a firearm.
The 26-year-old was taken into custody at a housing complex in Homagama, where officers seized 20 milligrams of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 35 grams of hashish.
Investigations revealed that the firearm in the video was a fake pistol. Police said the suspect admitted to releasing the video online to increase his social media following.
He is due to be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court.
