992 arrested in islandwide drug raids

The operation also resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals directly linked to other crimes and 342 wanted persons.

Police said 26,688 people were screened during the day-long operation, while 10,694 vehicles and 7,928 motorcycles were inspected.

A combined force of 6,273 personnel from the Police, Special Task Force (STF) and the tri-forces took part in the crackdown.
