Heat Advisory Issued for Several Provinces

The Department of Meteorology issued a heat advisory warning that the Heat Index may reach "Caution Level" in parts of the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces, along with Hambantota and Monaragala districts today.
Authorities cautioned that under such conditions, the human body is likely to feel significantly higher temperatures than the actual recorded levels.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
Limit outdoor activities during peak daytime hours
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
Take regular breaks if working outdoors
The Department urged residents in these regions to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities, and take extra care of the elderly and individuals with pre-existing health conditions.
