Indonesian Ambassador Meets Minister Upali Pannila

A meeting was held recently between Indonesian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dewi Gustina Tobing, and Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Dr. Upali Pannila, at the Ministry premises in Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla.

During the discussion, Ambassador Tobing commended the measures taken by the Sri Lankan government to achieve its development goals and the initiatives launched to eradicate poverty in the country. She assured that Indonesia would continue to extend its support towards the government’s long-term development agenda.

Minister Pannila briefed the Ambassador on the importance of the longstanding diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Indonesia, covering cultural, political, and economic aspects. He also highlighted the ongoing development programs and community empowerment projects implemented under his ministry.

On this occasion, the Ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Pannila to attend the 80th Independence Day celebrations of the Republic of Indonesia, which will be organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Sri Lanka.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Laial K. Unniarti, Political Coordinator at the Embassy of Indonesia in Colombo.
