GMOA to Launch Island-wide Strike on Monday

Addressing a press briefing today (23), the GMOA said the strike action will commence at 8.00 a.m. on Monday across government hospitals.

The association noted that the trade union action is mainly in response to issues concerning the medical officer transfer process, while other long-standing demands have also contributed to the decision.

The GMOA further stated that despite repeated discussions with the authorities, no satisfactory solutions had been provided, leaving the union with no alternative but to resort to trade union action.

Essential and emergency medical services are expected to continue during the strike, the GMOA added.
