The strike launched by paramedical professionals attached to hospitals under the Western Provincial Council has been temporarily suspended.

The Joint Federation of Paramedical Professionals announced that the decision was taken following a meeting held yesterday, chaired by the Western Provincial Chief Secretary.

During the discussions, it was agreed to hold further talks with provincial health authorities to address concerns regarding a recent transfer order that sparked the trade union action.

Until a final decision is reached, all paramedical staff will resume their regular duties, with services recommencing from 8:00 a.m. today.

The Federation assured that while duties have resumed, they remain vigilant on the progress of discussions regarding the disputed transfer order.
