Tension mounts outside Fort Magistrate’s Court as Ranil remanded

A tense atmosphere prevailed outside the Fort Magistrate’s Court today as supporters of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe gathered following the announcement of his remand.

The crowd, which had initially assembled to show support, grew anxious after the court’s decision. To maintain order, STF units and additional police personnel were deployed in the vicinity of the court.
