According to the police, the fraudulent letter contains forged names and signatures and was deliberately created to mislead the public. Authorities emphasized that the document is entirely fabricated and has no connection to the official communications of the Sri Lanka Police.
The Computer Crimes Division has launched a formal investigation to identify and take legal action against those responsible for creating and distributing the fake document.
In an official statement, police urged the public to remain vigilant and not to be deceived by unofficial materials shared on digital platforms. They reiterated that all legitimate police announcements are disseminated exclusively through recognized and verified channels.
