Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation’s (SLBC) 09th studio will be officially named the Dr. Nanda Malini Studio, SLBC Chairman Uditha Gayashan Gunasekara announced.
The inauguration ceremony will take place tomorrow (23) at 8.30 a.m. under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and Minister of Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
Prominent personalities from the country’s musical and literary spheres, including Professor Sunil Ariyaratne and veteran lyricist Kularatne Ariyawansa, are also expected to grace the occasion.
The event will feature the unveiling of the portrait of the legendary songstress, Dr. Nanda Malini, symbolizing the formal dedication of the studio. In addition, a special tribute gift will be presented to Dr. Malini in recognition of her invaluable contribution to Sri Lankan music and culture.
Chairman Mr.Gunasekara emphasized that dedicating the studio to Dr. Nanda Malini reflects SLBC’s deep appreciation of her unmatched legacy in the nation’s broadcasting and artistic heritage.
