Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara has directed all postal employees across the country to immediately report for duty, warning that strict disciplinary measures will be taken against those who fail to comply.
In his announcement, the Postmaster General highlighted that all leave for postal staff had already been canceled as of August 17. He further noted that the Treasury has decided not to release funds for the payment of August salaries to employees absent without formal leave approval.
The circular stresses that any employee unable to attend due to illness must submit a government medical certificate. Those who continue to remain absent will be considered as having vacated their posts under Section 15 of the Establishment Code.
