A man was shot dead near Thunbodhiya Junction, adjacent to the Bolgoda Bridge in Bandaragama, a short while ago.
Police said the victim was inside his car when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at him before fleeing the scene.
Further investigations are underway to identify the assailants and ascertain the motive behind the shooting.
