Chairman and Director General of the National Youth Services Council, Attorney-at-Law Supun Wijerathna, announced that a new online application titled “National Youth App” is expected to be launched this year for the benefit of young men and women in Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a press briefing held today (21) at the Government Information Department, Mr. Wijerathna emphasized that the council is focusing on modernizing its programs to suit today’s youth. He further stated that non-traditional, innovative programs will be introduced to attract young people and encourage their contribution to the nation’s development.

As part of this initiative, three new sports events that have gained youth interest will be introduced at this year’s National Youth Sports Festival. Additionally, a new project named “Evening IT” has been designed for tech-savvy youth, providing them opportunities to enhance their skills in the digital sphere.

He also revealed plans to establish “Multi-Model Centers” across the country, creating spaces for young men and women from different regions to gather, collaborate, and share knowledge.
