England have confirmed a white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in January 2026, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is, as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka later that year.

The tour begins with the ODIs on January 22, 24, and 27, followed by T20Is on January 30, February 1, and February 3. The series will give England crucial experience in subcontinental conditions as they aim for a third T20 World Cup title, having previously lifted the trophy in 2009 and 2022.

This will be England’s first white-ball tour of Sri Lanka since 2018, when they won the ODI series 3-1 and clinched the lone T20I. The last T20I encounter between the two sides came during England’s victorious 2022 T20 World Cup campaign, where they beat Sri Lanka by four wickets in the group stage.

Sri Lanka’s next T20I assignment is a three-match series away against Zimbabwe starting September 6, while England will meet South Africa in a home T20I series from September 10 in Cardiff.

Series schedule:

1st ODI – 22 January 2026

2nd ODI – 24 January 2026

3rd ODI – 27 January 2026

1st T20I – 30 January 2026

2nd T20I – 1 February 2026
