European leisure carrier Smartwings will begin weekly flights from Warsaw, Poland to Colombo, via Muscat in Oman, starting this December.

European leisure carrier Smartwings will begin weekly flights from Warsaw, Poland to Colombo, via Muscat in Oman, starting this December.

The airline will also operate with fifth-freedom rights, allowing it to carry passengers on the Muscat–Colombo–Muscat sector. The service will be operated using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

According to the schedule, the flight will depart Warsaw every Tuesday at 5.30 a.m. and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 8.55 p.m. The return flight will leave Colombo at 9.55 p.m. for Muscat and Warsaw, reaching the Polish capital at 5.40 a.m. the following day.

Smartwings is the largest Czech airline and one of the fastest-growing carriers in Central Europe. The airline is part of the Smartwings Group, which also includes Smartwings Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary, and currently operates flights to more than 80 destinations worldwide.
