Bus Catches Fire on Southern Expressway

A bus has reportedly caught fire near the Welipenna and Dodangoda interchanges on the Southern Expressway this afternoon (16) around 3:45 p.m.
The bus, which had been operating between Galle and Makumbura, had suddenly burst into flames due to a suspected mechanical fault.
Police officers together with nearby residents managed to bring the fire under control.
