The USS Santa Barbara (LCS 32), a vessel of the United States Navy, is set to arrive at the Port of Colombo today (16), marking its first visit to Sri Lanka, the U.S. Embassy in Colombo announced
The embassy stated that the visit highlights the robust U.S.–Sri Lanka partnership and a shared commitment to maintaining a secure, prosperous, and free Indo-Pacific region.
Part of the U.S. 7th Fleet—the world’s largest forward-deployed naval force—the Santa Barbara plays a key role in operational control, mission planning, and strengthening regional maritime security in the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.
The vessel conducts regular patrols across the Indo-Pacific to deter potential threats, enhance alliances and partnerships, and boost future combat readiness.
