Speaking at the launch of the International Gem and Jewellery Exhibition 2025 “Gem City Ratnapura –2025” in Pelmadulla today (15), the Prime Minister said that despite Sri Lanka’s global reputation in the sector, export growth remains below expectations.
The three-day event, organised by the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, will showcase diverse gemstones, mining and processing techniques, laboratory services, and training opportunities, with the goal of establishing Sri Lanka as a top-tier global gem and jewellery hub.
