Former State Minister of Gem and Jewellery, Lohan Evindra Ratwatte, has passed away at the age of 57.

Born on June 22, 1968, Ratwatte was a prominent political figure and a Member of Parliament representing the Kandy District. Known for his strong political lineage, he was the son of the late General Anuruddha Ratwatte, a former Cabinet Minister and military figure.

Lohan Ratwatte held various government positions during his political career, including roles in the State Ministry of Gem and Jewellery and the Ministry of Prison Management and Rehabilitation.

He was known both for his influence in the Central Province and for his involvement in national-level politics as a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
