The Chinese government has awarded full scholarships to 30 Sri Lankan students for postgraduate and doctoral studies for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Madura Seneviratne, made the announcement at the official scholarship awarding ceremony held at the Chinese Embassy in Colombo.
According to the Ministry of Education, the scholarships cover a range of fields including engineering technology, medicine, agriculture, education, management, and the arts.
To date, more than 165 Sri Lankan students have benefited from the Chinese government’s scholarship program as of 2025.
