At least thirteen people were injured in two separate road accidents reported from the Badulla District this morning (15), police said.

The first incident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. at Dunhinda Junction on the Badulla–Mahiyanganaya road when a bus carrying a group of pilgrims collided with a parked lorry. At least seven passengers sustained injuries in the crash. Police said about 30 people were travelling in the bus at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, six people were injured in another accident on the Ella–Wellawaya main road, in the area above Ravana Falls, when a three-wheeler and a luxury cab collided. The injured were admitted to the Demodara and Bandarawela hospitals.

According to police, those injured in the second accident are residents of the Badulla area. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
