SSP Sathish Gamage Remanded Over Alleged Corruption

Acting Director of the Police Cultural Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sathish Gamage, who was arrested earlier today (14) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has been remanded until August 19.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Pavithra Sanjeewani Pathirana after considering submissions made by officials of the Bribery Commission and the defence counsel.
According to CIABOC, during his tenure as SSP in charge of the Galle and Embilipitiya Police Divisions, the suspect had allegedly opened three bank accounts in private banks under another person’s name.
The case is scheduled to be taken up again on August 19.
