A Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Galle has been arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting over Rs. 100 million in bribes from underworld gang leaders and drug traffickers.

A Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Galle has been arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting over Rs. 100 million in bribes from underworld gang leaders and drug traffickers.

Investigations revealed the funds had been deposited into SSP Sathish Kumar’s bank accounts, as well as accounts belonging to his relatives and friends.

The arrest was made while the officer was on duty at the Police Field Force Headquarters. He is to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (14).
