Opposition political parties are set to convene another significant meeting today (14) at the residence of former Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris.

The move follows a similar high-level discussion held on August 6 at the same venue in Kirulapone, Narahenpita, which brought together leaders and representatives from around 12 opposition parties.

During that meeting, participants deliberated on the government’s actions, the prevailing political and economic climate, and the potential implications of recently introduced U.S. tariff measures.

The August 6 meeting was attended by Parliamentarians Rauff Hakeem, Mano Ganesan, Dayasiri Jayasekara, and Rishad Bathiudeen, as well as former MPs Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Shehan Semasinghe, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Mayantha Dissanayake, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Susil Premajayantha, Patali Champika Ranawaka, and former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda.
