
Sri Lanka to Host WHO South-East Asia Regional Committee Meeting in October

Sri Lanka is set to host the 78th Session of the WHO South-East Asia Regional Committee Meeting from October 13 to 15 in Colombo, Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa announced.
The high-level gathering will bring together health ministers and senior officials from 11 member countries, representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations agencies, and various development partners.
Recognized as one of the region’s most significant health policy forums, the meeting will focus on collaborative strategies to address pressing public health challenges, strengthen regional health systems, and promote sustainable healthcare development.
Minister Jayatissa highlighted that hosting the event underscores Sri Lanka’s commitment to advancing regional health priorities and fostering international cooperation in the health sector.
