
Sri Lanka approves diplomatic relations with Belize
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and several Latin American countries, furthering the nation’s global outreach and cooperation efforts.
Among the approved nations are Guatemala, Suriname, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
In line with this initiative, the Cabinet has endorsed the proposal presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism to formally sign a joint statement on the commencement of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Belize.
The establishment of these ties aims to foster friendly relations and enhance cooperation in political, socio-economic, and cultural fields for the mutual benefit of the nations involved.
