The Chairman and top officials of ROX Group of Companies, a leading Vietnamese conglomerate, met with Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody, today at the Ministry of Energy to discuss potential investments in Sri Lanka’s power sector.

The visit follows agreements and bilateral ties established during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s recent official tour of Vietnam. ROX Group officials expressed strong interest in investing across multiple sectors in Sri Lanka, with the energy sector identified as their top priority.

The delegation is scheduled to conduct an observation tour tomorrow in the Northern and Eastern provinces to assess the feasibility of establishing large-scale wind and solar power plants.

During the meeting, ROX Group shared details of their international energy projects in countries such as the United Kingdom, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting their global experience in renewable energy development.

Minister Jayakody welcomed the interest, stating that Sri Lanka, under a government with strong and stable public support, has expedited energy sector reforms and offers a favourable environment for foreign investment.

The visiting delegation was led by ROX Group Chairman Le Anh Due, accompanied by senior company executives.
