Nahil Wijesuriya donates Rs. 600 million to S. Thomas’ College

Renowned Sri Lankan entrepreneur and philanthropist Nahil Wijesuriya has made a generous donation of Rs. 600 million to S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, his alma mater. The contribution, channelled through the Old Trinitians Sports Club and the Agnes Wijesuriya Foundation for Children and Elders, will finance the construction of a state-of-the-art Information Technology building at the school.

This significant investment marks a major advancement in the digital infrastructure and educational development of S. Thomas’ College. Mr. Wijesuriya’s act of benevolence underscores his ongoing commitment to education and youth empowerment in Sri Lanka.

The donation also celebrates the historic connection between S. Thomas’ College and Trinity College, Kandy—two prestigious institutions founded during the British colonial era and recognized as brother schools. This contribution is being hailed as one of the largest ever made to a Sri Lankan school, setting a new benchmark for alumni-led development and fostering inter-school solidarity.
