Several spells of light showers can be expected in some districts

The Department of Meteorology says several spells of light showers can be expected in the Western, North-western, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts today (11).

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m. 

Sea Area Forecast (Next 24 Hours)
Showers are likely at a few places in the sea areas from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Winds will be south-westerly at speeds of 30–40 kmph, increasing up to 50–55 kmph at times in the sea areas from Kalpitiya to Mullaittivu via Mannar and Kankasanthurai, and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

These sea areas may be rough at times, the Department added.
