President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed all heads of institutions entrusted with responsibilities under the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2025–2029 to formulate concrete action plans to fulfill their assigned duties.

These directives were issued during a discussion held on July 30 at the Presidential Secretariat under the leadership of Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandini Sanath Kumanayake.

The meeting brought together members of the National Operational Committee established to monitor the implementation of the action plan, as well as heads of state and private sector institutions involved in the process.

The National Anti-Corruption Action Plan, launched on April 9, 2025, under the theme "Towards a Transparent Nation", is a key initiative by President Dissanayake. The plan aims to be implemented over a five-year period, from 2025 to 2029.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that all institutional leaders assigned responsibilities within this framework must prepare and implement effective action plans to combat corruption. Additionally, the National Operational Committee will periodically review the progress of these institutional plans to ensure accountability and transparency.

This initiative marks a significant step in Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to eliminate corruption and promote good governance across all sectors.
