President Dissanayake Returns After Official Visit to Maldives

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake returned to the island last night (30) following the successful conclusion of his three-day state visit to the Maldives.

The visit, which commenced on July 28, was undertaken at the official invitation of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu. During his stay, President Dissanayake engaged in high-level bilateral talks with President Muizzu, focusing on strengthening diplomatic ties and cooperation between the two nations.

In addition to the bilateral discussions, President Dissanayake met with several key figures, including Cabinet Ministers and Heads of State of the Maldives. The talks covered a wide range of subjects, including regional security, economic collaboration, climate change, and other international matters of mutual interest.

The state visit is seen as a significant step towards deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, with both nations reaffirming their commitment to regional stability and development.
